“北京海洋领导者”轮(Beijing Ocean Leader)总装载量1900吨，排水量5852吨，外廓长80.70米，内长70.71米，宽度17.22米，深度9.7米，吃水8.1米，是目前世界上破冰级别最高的破冰船之一。由日本JFE集团1982年开始建造，曾先后服务于加拿大、荷兰等公司，2018年出售给本次考察队负责人张昕宇、梁红夫妇，后者创立中国首个网络自制户外真人秀《侣行》被大众熟知。

是我国首艘民间筹资购买的南极科考船。2020年1月16日下午，从浙江省舟山市出发，开启南极之旅。
